The Club
Since 2005, the LEW HOAD Tennis and Paddle Club, under a new management, maintains the essence of yesteryear while renewing all its facilities and expanding the sports area.
LEW HOAD, Founder of this Tennis and Paddle Club, was a renowned Australian tennis player in the 50s and 60s. He won various Grand Slam tournaments such as Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open. After knowing the Costa del Sol on one of his family trips and living a great part of his life in Australia, he decided to settle in Mijas and create in an old Andalusian farmhouse an emblematic tennis club that bears his name. Personalities from all walks of life have visited this club throughout its history, being fascinated by the spectacular of its facilities and its magnificent surroundings. Aristocrats like Lady Di and Alfonso de Hohenlohe; Artists such as Sean Connery and Frank Sinatra; Tennis players like Tony Roche, Peter McNamara and Stan Smith; As well as politicians and financiers of great importance thanked their visit to the owners for the warm stay in this place without equal, where the sport, the gastronomy, the tranquility and the health were given in the same enclave.
